Used Venga

The Kia Venga is a small MPV manufactured by the Korean manufacturer Kia since 2009, after it debuted at that year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.  The 5-door model is built on the same platform as the Kia Soul hatchback, and shares the Kia family looks with the Tiger Nose grille.

The Kia Venga came with a 7-year, 100,000 mile warranty when new, and this raises a couple of points you should consider when looking at purchasing a used Kia Venga.  As the warranty only covers the vehicle for the first 100,000 miles of its life, try to go for a lower mileage example.  Also, it is important that any servicing or repair work on the vehicles has been completed on schedule and by a Kia-authorised repairer.  The way to check for this is to see whether the cars service book has been kept up to date, and has been stamped with the mark of a Citroen main dealer or approved service centre.
When buying through channels other than Kia approved used car sales, for example from a private seller or small independent motor trader, it is important to find out as much as you can about the history of the vehicle.  A number of firms offering a service to check out the history of a car to make sure it is not stolen, written off, and does not have any outstanding finance owed upon it.  For peace of mind it may be advisable to have a check such as this conducted on the vehicle you are thinking of buying.
The Kia Venga isn’t the cheapest in it’s class to buy new, and benefits from reasonable levels of equipment, so doesn’t depreciate as quickly as Kia’s past.  As a result don’t expect to pick one up for bargain basement money without a lot of searching and some good luck.  In addition, the comparatively high initial purchase price and lengthy warranty means that new purchasers may be considering it a long-term investment, and as a result the volume of used Kia Venga stock may not be there.  This is another factor, which will bolster the prices of used Kia Venga’s.
